July is here and the temperature is soaring. Universal Studios Japan will hold “Super Mario Power Up Summer,” a water-splashing event perfect for the hot summer, starting July 5. The event will be held at Gramercy Park three times a day for about 15 minutes from 2:00 p.m., 3:50 p.m., and 5:40 p.m.
As the title suggests, the first summer-style soaking wet event in four years will feature Mario, Luigi, Princess Peach, and other spectacular members who have ventured out of the “Super Nintendo World”. The entertainment includes stage dances and water splashing to the accompaniment of good mood music.
Participants are divided into Mario Team, Luigi Team, Princess Peach Team, and Kinopio Team, and each team must complete the challenge in time with Mario and his friends’ calls and poses. When the players get into the groove, the flag of their team rises, and the water volume of the water shooter used by their team’s character also rises, making them even wetter and more excited.
However, Mario World does not end there. Bowser Jr. intervenes in the midst of the excitement and tries to disrupt the stage, and with the help of Mario and his friends, he is challenged to exterminate him. The “soaking wet” event, which will be held for the first time since 2019, is a summer tradition that can be enjoyed by both children and adults. Let’s forget about the stresses of everyday life. But don’t forget to take waterproof measures and prepare a change of clothes.
