ANA and Kawasaki Heavy Industries have jointly developed upcycled products that utilize Boeing 787 engine blade scraps and scraps and surplus materials from the aircraft manufacturing process, and have begun selling them at the ANA Exciting Shop on the ANA Mall e-commerce site.
Kawasaki has a history of more than 100 years in aircraft manufacturing, manufacturing the forward fuselage of the Boeing 787 and fuselage panels for the Boeing 777 and Boeing 767. The company has also participated in the development and production of the Rolls-Royce (R&R) Trent 1000, which ANA uses in the engines of its Boeing 787s.
The collaboration between the two companies is based on their desire to “boost the Japanese aerospace industry. The products are processed at factories in Gifu Prefecture (Tenryu Aero Components and Nabeya Manufacturing), one of Japan’s leading aircraft manufacturing bases, and will also play a role in revitalizing the local economy and creating employment opportunities.
The lineup includes five items: an objet d’art, a key holder, a pass case, a business card holder, and a tablet stand. All items will begin shipping in early September, with additional sales planned as soon as they are ready.
