New area opened at Asakusa Hanayashiki, the oldest amusement park in Japan. Three attractions, including a haunted house, will be opened. The famous “Panda Car Yaki” is also back!

The new attraction “Haunted House: Edo’s Ghost Test” is a haunted house based on the motif of the four major ghost stories of Edo, which have been passed down to the present day in various forms, such as kabuki, rakugo, and kodan (storytelling). There is another coaster-type “Haunted House Thriller Car” at Hanayashiki, but this one is a traditional walk-through type. It is said to be a little milder than the previous haunted house. Many small children are making their amusement park debut at HANAYASHICHIKI, and the renovations were made to make it more enjoyable for all generations. Total length: approx. 70 m

New attraction “Panorama Time Travel” A visual attraction that takes visitors on a tour of Asakusa’s past and present using four-sided multi-image screens, the “Bee Tower” attraction, which was sadly retired in 2016, allows visitors to enjoy the Asakusa cityscape from the sky, while also providing a thrilling surprise to experience a time travel experience that is uniquely Asakusa. New attraction “Mystery! You, too, can be a scoop photographer.” This attraction is a round-the-park type attraction in which guests use a special device in the shape of a newspaper reporter’s camera to find yokai that appear in AR. Guests will first be assigned a mission at the “MARUHANA Newspaper Company” in the new area, and as a newspaper reporter, they will search for and photograph yokai lurking in various places in the park. There are 22 kinds of yokai in total, including Ichihan Momen, Kappa, Zashiki Warashi, and Nopporobo. The goal is to complete the photo shoot within the time limit so that it will appear on the front page of MARUHANA Newspaper. Time limit: approximately 15 minutes
