On July 6, JICA Vice President Junichi Yamada met with Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina of the People’s Republic of Bangladesh during his visit.
In the presence of Mr. Kiminori Iwama, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Bangladesh, Vice President Yamada reported that a memorial service was held on July 3 in the presence of the bereaved families of the seven Japanese who lost their lives in the Dhaka terrorist attack on July 1, 2016 (engaged in a preparatory survey for cooperation in the Dhaka urban transportation development project). Prime Minister Sheikh Hasina stated that the contributions of those who lost their lives will never be forgotten.
