Full program announced! This year’s Disney on Classics will also feature a special medley of the Disney 100!

Harmony Japan has announced the full program for “Disney on Classics – Maho no Yoru no Musikkai 2023,” which will begin on September 16.

Including the “Mysterious & Dark Special” limited to 10 performances and the “Christmas Special” limited to 4 performances, 51 performances will be held in 32 cities nationwide. The details of the special medley commemorating Disney’s 100th anniversary that will be performed in the first part of the concert have also been revealed.

Disney on Classics: A Maho no Yoru no Kikai” will be held for the 21st time in 2023, and is a concert for adults. The music of Disney animation, movies, and theme parks will be performed live by a vocalist and orchestra active in New York City.

To commemorate Disney’s 100th anniversary, the first part of this year’s event will be a special “Disney on Classics” medley entitled “Disney 100: The Stories Disney Brought Up.

From “Steamboat Willie,” Mickey Mouse’s screen debut, to “Toy Story,” “Anna and the Snow Queen,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” “Star Wars,” and “The Avengers,” the history of the Disney Company can be enjoyed through music and images.

The second part will feature the movie “Beauty and the Beast” under the theme of “With You. The story of the budding “true love” between the main character, Belle, and the Beast can be enjoyed through the visuals and lighting effects on the screen. A total of 21 songs will be performed, including “Morning Landscape,” “Strong, Gaston,” and “Beauty and the Beast,” as well as “Secret Dreams” and “Miracle Transformation” from the live-action version.

Mysterious & Dark Special,” limited to 10 performances, will focus on villains in a portion of the program. In a powerful and thrilling stage performance, “Disney Fantasy!” from Tokyo Disneyland “Disney Fantasy! The Devil’s Feast” from Tokyo Disneyland, and “”The Villains World” (edited version)” from Tokyo DisneySea’s “Disney Halloween 2017,” a selection that park fans will love.

In addition, there will be a “Christmas Special” limited to four performances in which a portion of the program will have a Christmas atmosphere. From Tokyo DisneySea’s “Christmas Wishes” and “The Nightmare Before Christmas” to “What’s Christmas All About? and other songs that will bring out the holiday spirit.

Conducting will be Richard Kersee, renowned musical conductor and regular conductor from “Disney on Classic – Spring Music Festival” starting in 2019. The orchestral performance is by THE ORCHESTRA JAPAN, and the navigator is Francesco Sasaki. The performance time is approximately 2 hours and 30 minutes including intermission. Tickets are now on sale to the general public through various play guides.
