East Japan Railway, PASMO Council, Tokyo Monorail, and Tokyo Waterfront Area Rapid Transit have temporarily suspended sales of unregistered “Suica” and “PASMO” cards since June 8 due to the global semiconductor shortage. In addition, they announced that they will also stop selling name-registered cards on August 2.
New commuter pass sales, sales of children’s and handicapped cards, and reissue services in case of card failure or loss will continue.
If you already have a card, you can use it as usual. Since you can use your card as many times as you like by recharging it, we encourage you to continue to use the card you have. Mobile Suica and Mobile PASMO can be used as usual.
