Seiko Time Creation will release two types of limited edition design pictorial clocks commemorating Disney’s 100th anniversary on August 10. This is in conjunction with the change of the dial of the clock tower of SEIKO HOUSE GINZA, the symbol of Wako, Ginza, to a Mickey Mouse design from October 5 to November 18.
The change in the clock tower’s dial is a first for both the first generation, completed in 1894, and the second generation (current), completed in 1932. The landmark that overlooks Ginza and has continued to mark time precisely is also attracting attention for its limited time only attire.
The “FS802W” (55,000 yen), a color scheme faithful to the limited edition design appearing at this event, features the familiar Mickey Mouse coloring. Produced by Okura Toen, a high-end ceramics company, it is a perfect collector’s item. Limited to 300 units.
FS803W (132,000 yen) is a luxurious combination of Okura’s signature “blue rose” and gold. The cobalt azure blue color expressed by Okura’s unique Oka Dyeing technique and the gold coloring of the gold are highlights of the piece. Limited edition of 100.
Both watches come with the same mini plate that was designed for the event (only one design is available). Like the watches, the plates are made by Okura Toen and have a diameter of approximately 12 cm, making them suitable for daily use.
It will be available at Ginza Wako and Seiko Clock Online Store. Reservations are now being accepted.
