Mystays Hotel Management has completed the renovation of Hotel Mystays Kumamoto Riverside (4-12 Konya Imacho, Chuo-ku, Kumamoto City, Kumamoto Prefecture), which began operations in August 2022.
The lobby is designed to resemble a ship’s hangar, in reference to the fact that Kumamoto has long been home to many shipyards. In front of the entrance, a screw propeller from a tanker that was completed in 1973 and retired without accident is displayed as a symbol of prayer for travel safety.
All guest rooms have also been renovated, with the addition of twin and triple rooms, and the “Japanese Family Twin” room, which can accommodate up to four people, has a floor bed with a lower height to prevent small children from falling out.
Other in-house facilities, such as restaurants and a private hall, have also been newly renovated, and the breakfast buffet lineup at the first-floor restaurant has also been redesigned. The first floor restaurant features a new breakfast buffet lineup with 50 Japanese and Western dishes, including Kumamoto’s local menu and local cuisine using ingredients from the prefecture, such as mustard lotus root, shigureni simmered horse meat, ikinari dumplings, and Aso brand milk. The main bucket hall on the second floor can accommodate up to 84 people for parties, conferences, and other needs. They can also hang banners and screens.
