First public viewing of the construction site of the new Tokyo DisneySea theme port “Fantasy Springs! OLC CEO Takano says, “Everything is original to Tokyo.

Oriental Land Co. opened the construction site of its large-scale Tokyo DisneySea development, Fantasy Springs, to the press for the first time.

Tokyo DisneySea’s eighth new theme port is scheduled to open in the spring of 2024. The total development area is approximately 140,000 m2 (theme park and hotel area approximately 100,000 m2), and the total development cost is expected to be 320 billion yen.

Fantasy Springs” is a new themed port based on the theme of “Disney’s fantasy world guided by a magical spring. The area will feature four new attractions, three new food and beverage facilities, and one new merchandise store.

Three new areas will be created in the new theme port: Frozen Kingdom, the area from the Disney film “Anna and the Snow Queen”; Rapunzel’s Forest, the area from “Rapunzel on the Tower”; and Peter Pan’s Neverland, the area from “Peter Pan. In addition, the Tokyo DisneySea Fantasy Springs Hotel, the sixth Disney hotel in Japan, will open.

Newly revealed are the names of the attractions and restaurants. Frozen Kingdom will feature the Frozen Journey of Anna and Elsa attraction, the Arendelle Royal Banquet Hall restaurant, and Oaken’s Okay Food.

Rapunzel’s Lantern Festival attraction and Snuggly Duckling restaurant will open in Rapunzel’s Forest.

In addition, “Peter Pan’s Neverland” will feature the attraction “Peter Pan’s Neverland Adventure” and the restaurant “Lookout Cookout. Pixie Hollow” will also feature a new attraction, “Fairy Tinkerbell’s Busy Buggy.

This time, the construction site and the progress of the hotel are open to the public. At the construction site, a representative from Walt Disney Imagineering explained the company’s commitment to the development. More details will be provided in a later article.

In addition, Yumiko Takano, who assumed the position of Oriental Land Chairman (and) CEO on June 29, shared her thoughts on the development. Ms. Takano has been involved in the “Fantasy Springs” project from its conception stage and continues to serve as the General Manager of the 8th Theme Port Promotion Division.

He emphasized that “everything is original to Tokyo” about the new theme port. We believe that the one-of-a-kind Tokyo Disneyland and Fantasy Springs will further enhance the brand value,” he said, adding that he expects guests from both Japan and overseas to visit the park.
