Mr. Kota Yasumura, Director of the Department in charge of the formation of overseas investment and loan projects, attended the awards ceremony.

JICA’s overseas investment and loan projects target projects that contribute to infrastructure, growth acceleration, and the achievement of the SDGs, and JICA has also focused on expanding projects that contribute to combating climate change. For example, the Zarafshan Wind Power Project in Uzbekistan will support the construction and operation of the country’s first large-scale wind power generation facility by a private sector operator. These award-winning projects are expected to spur private investment in similar projects in various sectors and regions, and will also contribute to the acceleration of sustainable infrastructure investment as model cases for future projects.
JICA will continue to expand its sustainable finance activities and contribute to the achievement of the Sustainable Development Goals (SGDs), including climate change mitigation, in developing countries through further collaboration with various partner institutions. JICA will continue to expand sustainable finance in collaboration with various partner organizations.
