CITIZEN Collaborates with HAKUTO-R, a Lunar Exploration Program, to Create a Limited Edition Model. The dial, which changes color when exposed to light, expresses the universe.

CITIZEN WATCH will release a collaboration model with ispace’s lunar exploration program “HAKUTO-R” from the “CITIZEN ATTESA” ACT Line series on October 12. Priced at around 181,500 yen, only 2,700 pieces will be sold worldwide.

This Eco-Drive watch can be recharged by even the smallest amount of light in daily life, eliminating the need for periodic battery replacement. The case and band are made of super titanium with the company’s proprietary surface hardening technology, similar to that used for the leg parts of the lunar module. The finish is said to be scratch-resistant and gentle to the skin.

The dial is made of recycled polycarbonate, a shock-resistant plastic, and uses structural color inks that emit colors depending on the reflection of light. The dial changes from purple to blue, and silver lamé is added to express the sparkling nebulae and galaxies in outer space. The watch is also equipped with a direct flight function that displays the time and date in 26 cities around the world simply by pulling the crown to select the city. The back of the watch is engraved with the “HAKUTO-R” logo to give the limited edition model a special touch.
