Sera Kogen Farm (1124-11 Bessako, Sera-cho, Sera-gun, Hiroshima Prefecture) will hold the “Dahlia and Garden Mum Festival” from September 9 to October 29.

The Sera Plateau is decorated in autumn with 7,500 dahlias in 550 gorgeous varieties and 13,000 garden mums in 30 varieties that are brightly colored and lovely. The best time to see them is from late September to late October.

The “Dahlia Pool,” a photogenic spot where dahlias and other fresh flowers float on water, will be exhibited with a different image each weekend. Also, from October 7 to 9, visitors can view “Dahlia Flower Painting,” in which fresh flowers are laid out one by one, for three days only.

Other events include dahlia picking (200 yen per dahlia) from September 9 to October 19, flower arrangement sales and hands-on flower arrangement making (from 2,000 yen) from September 16 to 17, and yukata (summer kimono) rental (3,500 yen) from September 30 to October 1.

In addition, the attached flower café, farm restaurant, burger store, farm grill, and flower stand will offer limited-edition menus using autumnal ingredients.

Admission fees vary depending on blooming conditions; 700-1,200 yen for adults, 300-600 yen for 4-year-olds to elementary school students.
