The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Loan Agreement (L/A) with the Hashemite Kingdom of Jordan for up to 15 billion yen for the “Electricity Sector Reform and Resilience Enhancement Program Loan (Phase 2)” on September 5, 2012 in Amman, Jordan. The loan will be extended for a period of three years.
This project aims to promote renewable energy and enhance energy resilience (strong and sustainable energy supply capacity) by supporting reforms in the electricity sector through financial assistance to the Government of Jordan. Through these efforts, the project will contribute to the realization of a sustainable and stable electricity supply and improve the country’s balance of payments and fiscal balance.
