WILLER EXPRESS will introduce its original three-row “DOME” seats, featuring a private and comfortable feel, on its night service between Tokyo and Nagoya, starting October 6. In conjunction with the introduction, WILLER TRAVEL has begun taking reservations.
Shell-shaped seats that can recline without concern for the back, and are designed so that space is not obstructed even when the seat in front reclines. There is a footrest on the back of the seat, allowing even tall people to stretch their legs. In addition, the “lumbar cushion,” which reduces the burden on the body, is said to support a comfortable posture.
A large canopy is placed over the head to block line of sight and noise, increasing the sense of privacy and security of the three rows of seats. Inside the canopy is a smartphone holder that allows passengers to watch videos at night without worrying about being seen. When driving at night, indirect blue lighting is turned on so as not to disturb sleep and the light from the smartphone is not bothersome.
To commemorate the start of service, a “Trial Plan” with a limited number of seats is available for departures between October 6 and November 30 for the nighttime Tokyo-Nagoya route for 4,500 yen (2-row seats)/5,000 yen (independent seats) one way, compared to the usual 6,900 yen (2-row seats)/7,400 yen (independent seats) one way. The Tokyo-Osaka route is also scheduled to begin service by the end of the year.
