summary

For 15 years since 2008, JICA has been working with young people in Africa to improve water and sanitation.

As of the end of May 2023, a cumulative total of 294 Water Defense Force members had been dispatched to 21 countries, and 20 members are currently working in 9 countries. The Water Defenders live and work with local communities to understand their needs, and then work to solve their problems with a free and open mind. In this webinar, we will introduce a unique initiative and innovation case study originating from Japanese youth in the “Water Defense Force”. We look forward to seeing you at this webinar, whether you are interested in Africa and water sanitation or just curious about the keywords of social problem solving, youth, innovation, and DX!
