Iwatake Resort will open the Hakuba Giant Swing, a super-sized swing at Hakuba Iwatake Mountain Resort (12056 Kitashiro, Hakuba-mura, Kitaazumi-gun, Nagano Prefecture) on October 6 at 12:00 pm.
The tour is available for those who are at least 110 cm tall and weigh less than 100 kg, and the fee is 1,000 yen per person per tour. Tickets are available at the summit guide center. Open from October 6 to November 12.
The first wind-up swing in Japan, it will be installed in the Hakuba Hitotokinomori area, where the Karamatsuzawa Glacier and the mountains of the Northern Alps at an altitude of 1,100 meters and the countryside of Hakuba Village spread out below.
The wind-up swing allows people of any age or physical fitness level to jump out of the start with great momentum, and it is 10 meters off the ground, giving a maximum swing of about 6 meters forward (the height is about 6 meters higher than the 2020 “Yahtzee! Swing”), which is approximately three times the height of the “Swing”.
The swing is said to be an activity that allows visitors to experience the world of “Heidi, Girl of the Alps” in real life, where they can look out over the mountains in front of them while feeling the thrill of an extraordinary floating sensation.
In conjunction with the opening of the giant swing, “Heidi, Girl of the Alps” merchandise will also be sold. More than 20 types of products including tumblers, key rings, towels, etc., featuring characters from the anime will be available at the Noah store in the gondola lift base station.
The October 6 opening of Hakuba Giant Swing will also mark the fifth anniversary of Hakuba Mountain Harbor and THE CITY BAKERY Hakuba Mountain Harbor.
To commemorate this event, “THE CITY BAKERY” will release original designs of canisters and eco-bags. In addition, the first 500 visitors to Hakuba Mountain Harbor will receive mini-sized hot chocolate and marshmallows from THE CITY BAKERY.
