JR East Cross Station will open “Pensta,” a Suica penguin-themed café and goods store, at Ecute Ueno, an eco-commercial facility at JR Ueno Station, on October 12.
The Suica penguin goods specialty store at Tokyo Station, which closed its doors in September 2018, has now been renovated as “Pensta” with a café and is making a comeback opening in Ueno for the first time in five years.
More than 300 kinds of goods and café menu items will be sold, as well as limited-edition products available only at Pensta (images are examples). In addition, a “campaign to celebrate the opening” will be held, in which customers can receive book markers and pouches designed with Suica penguins by making purchases using transportation-related electronic money.
