Date: August 24, 2023

Location: MOffice co-working center (MobiCom Corporation facility)

The kick-off event for the MONJA Startup Accelerator Program 3, a support program for startups working on innovative businesses aimed at solving social issues in Mongolia, was held in Ulaanbaatar, Mongolia, on Thursday, August 24, 2023.

MONJA is co-hosted by MobiCom Corporation, a leading Mongolian telecommunications company and a subsidiary of KDDI Corporation, the Mongolia-Japan Human Resources Development Center and JICA, and managed by Deloitte Tohmatsu Financial Advisory (DTFA), Deloitte Tohmatsu Venture Support (DTVS), Deloitte Touche Tohmatsu LLC (DTTL), Exponential Partners & Exponential Zaisan Partners. This will be the third time for this acceleration program.

This year, we will provide 3 months of hands-on support to 3 startups carefully selected from over 80 applicants.

The kick-off event was attended by nearly 50 people, including those involved in the local startup ecosystem such as local companies, financial institutions, and government agencies, as well as online viewers such as Japanese venture capitalists. The networking event after the pitches was a heated discussion about each company’s products.

The three selected companies will receive intensive mentoring and seminar support from local accelerators and domestic and international mentors for about three months until the Demo Day scheduled for December 9, 2023, to brush up their business plans, business models, and overseas expansion strategies, with the aim of business expansion and fundraising. The program aims to expand business and raise funds by brushing up business plans, business models, and overseas expansion strategies, etc.

We hope you enjoy the growth of the three selected companies.
