This is a demonstration experiment to address issues such as traffic congestion during the on-season and environmental pollution caused by exhaust gas in tourist destinations where cars tend to be the main means of visitation.

JR East Startup and eMoBi will offer an electric tuk-tuk rental service at Hatunosu Station on the JR Ome Line. The period is from October 18 to December 2.

After making a reservation and registering in advance, visitors can hold their driver’s license over the key box near the ticket gate at Hatonosu Station on the JR Ome Line to use an electric tuk-tuk (maximum capacity: 3 passengers), which is located on the right side of the ticket gate. Returns can also be made at Hatanosu Station.

Guided Tours

Mobility tours of Okutama’s local resources by electric tuk-tuk and electric-assist bicycles, available for reservations in advance for two or more people, began accepting reservations on October 12.

There are a total of four types of tours. The tour takes about 3-5 hours and costs 8,800 yen to 13,900 yen (depending on the course and mobility).

Period: October 18 – December 2, 2023 (Saturdays, Sundays and holidays only)

Reservations: Official website of Marugoto Hotel along the railway line
