The flight to Nouméa, the capital, takes about 8.5 hours. The time difference is only 2 hours, so there is almost no need to worry about jet lag. The aircraft deployed on the Narita route is the new Airbus A330-900neo aircraft introduced in 2019, with a three-class configuration: business class, premium economy, and economy. We flew economy class this time. The flight schedule is as follows: The outbound flight SB801 departs Narita at 11:55 a.m. and arrives in Noumea at 10:30 p.m. The return flight, SB800, departs Noumea at 1:00 pm and arrives at Narita at 7:55 am (both flights operate on Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday, as of September 2023). The cabin is decorated with striking blue headrest covers and cushions reminiscent of the New Caledonian lagoon, which will quickly get you in the mood for a vacation.
