Tokyo Metro will sell upcycled products utilizing the seating of Series 02 trains that used to operate on the Marunouchi Line through the crowdfunding service “CAMPFIRE”. The sales period is from October 27 to December 17, and will end when the planned number of items sold is reached.
Since cloth materials such as seat covers are difficult to recycle, the “Tokyo Metro Upcycle Project” has been working to utilize them in new products, and this product is the first step in the project. This product is the first in the series. It combines seats removed from retired trains and cleaned with old jeans fabric.
There are three types of products: a 21 cm wide “Tokyo Metro Logo Pouch” (6,900 yen), a 9 cm wide “Small Pouch with Tokyo Metro Button” (3,600 yen), and a “Key Chain with Tokyo Metro Button” (1,950 yen) (price includes shipping). Each product will be limited to 50 pieces, 30 red and 20 blue.
