Tourism Expo Japan 2023 Osaka-Kansai, one of the world’s largest travel events, is being held at INTEX Osaka (Suminoe-ku, Osaka City) for four days from October 26 to 29.
At the organizers’ press conference following the opening ceremony, Hiroyuki Takahashi, chairman of the Tourism EXPO Japan Organizing Committee and chairman of JATA (Japan Association of Travel Agents), who took the stage on behalf of the organizers, said, “This is the second Tourism EXPO to be held in Osaka since 2019. The theme of this year’s event is ‘A Festival of Travel to Meet the Future,’ and we aim to create a trend that will follow the Osaka-Kansai Expo to be held in 2025.
As for new forms of travel, there will be exhibits and seminars on adventure tourism, Tourism DX, SDGs, etc. In addition, visitors can enjoy a dream of the future with space travel and sightseeing exhibits at the travel agency’s exhibition booth. We also hope that young people, especially Generation Z, will experience the joy of travel, and for the first time, we have made admission free for university and vocational school students, so they can experience the fun of travel firsthand. The three members of NMB48, which enjoys tremendous support from young people, were chosen as PR ambassadors for the event.
Its PR ambassadors, NMB48 members Kari Kojima, Yuna Deguchi, and Kiinon Shiotsuki, commented that they too would enjoy touring the venue.
