Tourism Expo Japan 2023 Osaka-Kansai, one of the world’s largest travel events, is being held at INTEX Osaka (Suminoe-ku, Osaka City) for four days from October 26 to 29.
The special section is a collection of booths in specific genres, such as cruise, sports, adventure, etc. Here we will introduce the Cruise Corner.
At the Cruise Corner, booths from port cities around Japan take center stage, introducing their unique characteristics and tourist attractions.
The Nagasaki Cruise Promotion Council introduces information on ports where cruise ships call in Nagasaki Prefecture, including Nagasaki Port, one of the most prominent ports in Japan, Sasebo Port, Kawauchi Port in Hirado City, and Itsuhara Port in Tsushima City. Visitors can learn about upcoming cruise ship port call schedules and sightseeing information in the area. On the day of the open house, they will be giving away sweets and other goods from Nagasaki Prefecture.
The Kyushu 7 Cities Port Cooperation Booth is a joint exhibit of Shimonoseki, Kitakyushu, Fukuoka, Sasebo, Yatsushiro, Beppu, and Nichinan, all of which have ports where cruise ships call. This booth also introduces tourist information on the area around each port.
The Cruise Setouchi booth next to it will provide information on cruises in the Shikoku and Chugoku regions bordering the Seto Inland Sea. In addition, in conjunction with the Kyushu 7 Cities Port Cooperation Booth, there will be a daily lottery with a chance to win a pair of Ferry Sunflower tickets and original goods.
Cruise Okinawa ENJOY! At the CURUISE OKINAWA booth, information on cruise ships departing from and arriving in Okinawa and Ishigaki will be introduced. Although the area is mainly visited by overseas cruise ships, mainly from China, the booth will also provide cruise information for domestic travelers and information on sightseeing in Okinawa.
In the Osaka area, there will be a booth by the Osaka Port and Harbor Bureau and a joint booth by the Mie Prefecture Cruise Progress Cooperation Council and the Yokkaichi Port Cruise Ship Attraction Council.
The Osaka Port and Harbor Bureau booth will introduce information on the Port of Osaka. In addition to information on cruise ship calls, the Port of Osaka will also introduce the Tempozan Cruise Terminal, scheduled to open in April 2024, as well as Kaiyukan and other tourist attractions in the area.
At the joint booth of the Mie Prefecture Cruise Promotion Coordination Council and the Yokkaichi Port Cruise Ship Attraction Council, information on Mie Prefecture attractions and sightseeing, mainly in the Yokkaichi area, will be introduced. In addition, sweets, original goodies, picture postcards, and other gifts will be given away.
Other booths will include a Ferry Sunflower booth and a Silversea Cruises booth.
The Ferry Sunflower booth introduced the attractions of ferries as well as information on the routes they operate. In particular, the newly built “Sunflower Murasaki,” which started service on the Osaka-Beppu route in January 2023, has a luxurious interior that overturns conventional ferry concepts, appealing to visitors who enjoy the feeling of traveling on a cruise ship even when taking a ferry.
At the Silversea Cruises booth, information on high-priced luxury cruises will be presented. They will be able to provide detailed information on cruise ships and tours, including information on sailings for next year and beyond, so please consult with them about anything you need.
