On October 31, Hario Trading launched electric bicycles from its outdoor coffee gear line “Zebrang” at HARIO NETSHOP. Prices are 473,000 yen (20 inches) and 495,000 yen (24 inches).

Based on the idea that it is not only the utensils that make coffee taste good, but also the surrounding environment and conditions, the company has sold speakers, rice cookers, and other products. This time, the company is developing “electrically power assisted bicycles” in collaboration with MOVE, which sells high-quality, highly functional electrically power assisted bicycles, with the hope that people will “find their own coffee spot.

The design features an original, custom-made zebra pattern derived from the brand name. The design also takes into consideration visibility at night and in dark environments to ensure traffic safety.

The assisted ride is possible for up to 80 km on a single charge. In accordance with the Road Traffic Law, the assist is automatically output according to pedaling, so the rider can ride like a regular bicycle without a license. 350W powerful motor allows the rider to travel long distances with ease while maintaining the light power and nimble ride feel of a sports bike.

The bike has a two-step folding system for easy transport and storage, making it easier to store than a regular bicycle. Fat tires are used for easy riding on rough roads, bumps, and mountain paths.

The company is also running a crowdfunding campaign on CAMPFIRE with special offers for early purchasers of the Zebran Electric Bicycle. The period is until December 31.
