I flew Vietnam Airlines to Hanoi in good season.

Hello, I am Akira Fukasawa, photographer. I have just participated in a study tour organized by Vietnam Airlines to inspect “Hanoi and Halong Bay” including World Heritage sites.

Boeing 787-9 from Narita to Hanoi

From Narita Airport, we departed on flight VN311 to Hanoi at 10:00am. Vietnam Airlines’ alliance is SKYTEAM, so the check-in counter is in the North Wing of Terminal 1.

The check-in counter was busy with flights to Ho Chi Minh City and Da Nang on Vietnam Airlines before and after the flight, but check-in was very smooth because the counters were separated by destination.

I requested a window side and was assigned seat 24A. The aircraft is a Boeing 787-9.

The number of passengers, including tourists, seemed to be high among Japanese. However, the number of flights has not yet completely returned to normal after Corona, and the number of Japanese traveling to Vietnam is said to have increased slightly.

After takeoff from Runway A (RWY34L) at Narita Airport, the route passes over the Seto Inland Sea and Fukuoka, then over Shanghai, China, en route to Hanoi. When the fasten seatbelt sign is turned off, a snack mix is distributed along with the drink service, and a sigh of relief is felt. Headphones were also handed out and we relaxed while watching a movie.

After that, the in-flight meal service started as lunch. Economy class passengers could choose between two main dishes: “Deep-fried white fish with ginger sauce served with cooked rice” and “Roasted chicken with sauce served with corn rice”. I was shown the menu with pictures. I chose the Deep Fried White Fish with Ginger Sauce. It was very tasty and seasoned to go with the rice.

After that, we were served hot coffee and relaxed after dinner. 5 hours and 22 minutes flight took us to RWY11L of Hanoi Noi Bai International Airport, located about 45 km north of Hanoi city center, arriving at 13:35 local time. Outside the arrival exit, I met with the participants from Osaka and Kansai and Mr. Thai of AIC TRAVEL, who acted as our local guide. Mr. Thai had worked in Japan in the past and is fluent in Japanese.
