Komazawa Olympic Park (1-1 Komazawa Park, Setagaya-ku, Tokyo) will hold the “Flower and Light Movement,” a light-up event from November 17 to December 10, 2012, in which large flowerbeds of flowers throughout the four seasons are illuminated by light.
Five colors of pansies are installed on the grand staircase in the central plaza, and four colors of pansies with three-dimensional decorations are installed in the square-shaped flowerbeds in the plaza. At night (from 5:30 to 9:00 p.m.), the theme of the festival is “Fantasy,” and the area will be illuminated with fantastic lights. Visitors can enjoy a completely different atmosphere than during the daytime, with light balls with an arabesque pattern and the surrounding Olympic Monument and ginkgo trees lit up.
In addition to event collaboration products and light food and beverage sales by kitchen cars planned for the park, Komazawa Olympic Park will simultaneously hold its annual “Komazawa Fantasia” from November 24 to 25. Candle art, night concerts, workshops, and sports experiences will be available.
In addition, an online gift of flowers will be awarded to five winners each at four parks, including Komazawa Olympic Park, through a submission campaign.
