Toei Subway to Achieve 100% Home Door Installation Rate by February 2024. Nishimagome and Oshiage will be completed soon.

Posted on 2023-11-17 by Editor in Chief

The Tokyo Metropolitan Transportation Bureau announced that the installation of platform doors at all Toei Subway stations will be completed on February 20, 2024.

Home doors are currently being installed at Nishimagome and Oshiage Stations on the Asakusa Line. Nishimagome and Oshiage stations are scheduled to be completed on November 18 and February 20, 2024, respectively.

The bureau completed the installation of safety and barrier-free facilities on platforms on the Mita Line in 2000, the Oedo Line in 2013, and the Shinjuku Line in 2019, and there have been zero cases of falls from platforms on the lines after the installation.

The Asakusa Line has experienced delays in maintenance due to the fact that it operates directly with several railroad operators and due to the global shortage of semiconductors.
