ZIPAIR Tokyo announced on November 8 that it will begin service to Vancouver, Canada in March 2024.
This is the company’s ninth destination and sixth country of operation, and will initially operate three flights per week with the aim of increasing to seven daily flights per week. Tickets are scheduled to go on sale in early to mid-December.
Regarding fares, President Shingo Nishida said, “You can expect the same fares this time,” as the company has been able to achieve fares that are considerably lower than those of full-service carriers in the past.
Vancouver has been active in traffic to and from Japan since before Corona, and the area serves as a gateway between Asia and the North American continent. The company already operates flights to Los Angeles, San Francisco, and San Jose, and the company believes that there is a certain number of passengers departing from Narita who will be traveling to Vancouver from there, and that demand for direct flights to Vancouver will be high.
In addition to business and VFR (visiting relatives and friends), the route is also expected to generate demand for study abroad and working holidays among young people, and there is also strong demand for travel to Asia from Canada, with almost all Canadians traveling abroad at least once a year.
