JAL and JALPAC will conduct a special charter flight on January 27, 2024, recreating the route of the first JAL international flight on February 2, 1954.
The website will be open from 10:00 a.m. November 16 to 23:59 p.m. November 27 for the first round of applications and from 14:00 p.m. December 8 to 23:59 p.m. December 12 for the second round, and by phone from 10:00 a.m. November 16 to 17:00 p.m. November 27 for the first round of applications and from 14:00 p.m. December 8 to 17:00 p.m. December 12 for the second round of applications. Both will be sold by lottery.
Two tours will depart on January 27, 2024, one to enjoy Honolulu and the other to visit San Francisco across the Pacific Ocean. Both tours will look back on 70 years of JAL international flight history with a variety of exclusive events planned at Narita International Airport, on board, and locally. The return trip will be on a scheduled flight, with the option of returning to either Narita or Haneda.
Before departure, a ceremony will be held with flight attendants wearing the uniforms of past generations. Afterwards, a commemorative photo will be taken with the aircraft in the background, and participants will receive a boarding certificate and a gift. In addition, tour participants can participate in a tour of the Narita Airport Operation Center, which is normally off-limits to tour participants only.
The Honolulu tour will include a luxury dinner cruise party, an original Oahu sightseeing tour, and an overnight stay at the Moana Surfrider. The San Francisco tour will include a quiz on the 70-year history of JAL’s international flights, a sightseeing tour of San Francisco, and a dinner reception with JAL staff.
The tour to Honolulu is 5-6 days. The tour fee is 390,000 yen, with an additional 144,000 yen per person per room. The tour to San Francisco is for four days, and the sample tour fee is 520,000 yen, with an additional 50,000 yen per person per room.
