Ricoh Imaging will release the PENTAX WG-90 waterproof compact digital camera in early December. It will be priced at 66,000 yen (excluding tax).
In a compact and lightweight body weighing approximately 173g, this standard-class camera is waterproof, capable of underwater photography at a depth of 14m, drop impact resistance from a height of 1.6m, and cold resistance up to -10℃.
The camera withstands environments that are difficult for ordinary digital cameras and smartphones to shoot in, and also features an outdoor monitor that quickly adjusts the brightness of the LCD screen to improve visibility in bright outdoor conditions.
The camera also features a unique “digital microscope” mode that magnifies the subject and records clear images of the microscopic world invisible to the naked eye, making it suitable for a wide range of shooting situations, from daily snaps to business use.
With a maximum ISO sensitivity of 6400 and approximately 16 effective megapixels, the camera offers high-resolution images and a 5x optical zoom lens with a focal length of 5 to 25 mm (equivalent to approximately 28 to 140 mm on a 35 mm film camera). In addition, the camera is equipped with three types of image stabilization functions for still and moving images, and a full HD movie recording function that enables high-quality, long-time shooting.
The body is available in two colors: black and blue.
