Wizarding World Digital opened the Japanese version of its “Official Hogwarts Sorting Hat Diagnostic” website today, November 16.
The “Sorting Hat,” a magical hat, diagnoses the dormitory the user belongs to according to his or her aptitude among the four dormitories of Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry (Gryffindor, Hufflepuff, Ravenclaw, and Slytherin) that appear in the “Harry Potter” movies.
Launched in 2019 on the official English-language “Harry Potter” Wizarding World website, the number of registered “Harry Potter Fan Club” members required to access the “Sorting Hat Diagnostic Site” exceeds 70 million worldwide. The Japanese version of the “Official Hogwarts Sorting Hat Diagnostic” site is the first to be launched in a language other than English.
After answering eight questions and being assigned to a group, students will receive a welcome message from the supervising student along with the characteristics of the dormitory, allowing them to simulate the grouping scene from the movie. Visitors can also enjoy the linkage with the popular game “Hogwarts Legacy.
They recommend finding items for your dormitory at the “Studio Tour Tokyo Making of Harry Potter” (1-1-7 Kasuga-cho, Nerima-ku, Tokyo), where you can find merchandise for each dormitory, or at “Harry Potter Mahoudokoro” nationwide.
In addition, to celebrate the opening of the Japanese-language site, the official Wizarding World X (formerly Twitter) will be holding a “I am this dormitory, I am this dormitory” campaign until December 6 to win official goods by drawing lots! Haripota Sorting Hat Challenge Campaign” will be held until December 6.
