Walt Disney Japan will release New Year’s items at the Disney Store on November 28.
New this year are items featuring character motifs from the “Toy Story” series of Disney-Pixar movies. The key point is that the toys are handmade with items found in Bonnie’s room & sculpted to look like they are enjoying a Japanese New Year’s party. The adorable figures transformed into Kagamimochi (mirror-shaped rice cakes), Tatsun (dragons), and Shime-mochi (decorations for the New Year) are irresistible.
The “mascot” (2,500 yen), which features Little Green Men dressed as a two-tiered Kagamimochi (mirror-shaped rice cake), has a cute orange head. It comes with a decorative stand and is recommended for display at the entrance or in the living room.
The lineup also includes a Rex in the shape of a dragon and a piggy bank ham mascot (2,500 yen) with a red and white shime-mochi decoration to add a festive touch to your home. Be sure to decorate your space with these items to get into the New Year’s spirit.
Also available is a “shimekodori” (2,200 yen). Decorated with pine trees and mizuhiki, it can be hung on the front door to celebrate the New Year with the “Toy Story” friends.
Sales will begin on November 28 at Disney Flagship Tokyo, Disney Store Tokyo Disney Resort Store, and DisneyStore.jp. Other stores will begin sales on December 1.
