The Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) signed a Memorandum of Cooperation with the Export-Import Bank of Korea and the External Economic Cooperation Fund (EDCF) on November 24, 2012, at JICA Headquarters in Tokyo, Japan, between JICA President Akihiko Tanaka and KEXIM President Yoon Hee-sung.
They exchanged views on the importance of the development of the Indo-Pacific region and the collaboration between JICA and EDCF, and confirmed that they will continue to deepen mutual understanding through further exchange of information and opinions.
JICA and EDCF have been collaborating on co-financing in Asia and Africa. The conclusion of this MOU is expected to promote further partnerships, including co-financing, and more effective development cooperation.
