Seibu Zouen and Higashimatsuyama Peony Garden Partners will hold the “New Year Peony Exhibition” at Higashimatsuyama Peony Garden (1148-1 Otani, Higashimatsuyama City, Saitama Prefecture) from January 13 to 28, 2024, from 10:00 to 15:00, where visitors can enjoy colorful peony blossoms. Admission is free.
About 50 plants of the spring-blooming variety of botanicals will be exhibited in straw bonsai, which look like snow peas, having been made to bloom in midwinter under the guidance of the Japanese Garden Yushien, the largest botanical production site in Japan. The special temperature control of the peonies allows the stems to be greener and the leaves to be more abundant, and the flowers to be larger and more colorful than the “kan botan” peonies, which bloom in the two seasons of spring and winter.
There is also a photo spot on the park’s outdoor stage where visitors can admire botan flowers up close in a daisy display. Visitors can take pictures surrounded by the flowers and enjoy their fragrance up close.
In addition, “Hajimete no Shizenasobi in Saitama”, a guided tour to learn about botan (botan), potted botan plants, and crepes made with honey produced in Tokorozawa will be sold mainly on Saturdays and Sundays during the period.
