JR East will begin charging Mobile Suica commuter pass users only through “One Time Credit Card Payment,” a proxy payment by credit cards of parents and other credit card holders. The service will begin on March 16, 2024.
Mobile Suica has introduced “One-time Credit Card Payment” so that students who do not have a credit card in their name can purchase commuter pass. This time, “One-time Credit Card Payment” will also be available for recharging as a new service limited to commuter pass users. This will allow students to recharge their Mobile Suica without having to stop by a ticket machine at the station.
