Rakuten Group announced that the number of municipalities offering “Rakuten Travel Coupon Returns” through Rakuten Furusato Tax has surpassed 500.
The coupon is a travel coupon worth up to 30% of the donation amount when you make a donation to an eligible municipality through Rakuten Furusato Tax. The coupon can be used for 3 years from the day after the date of grant, and can be used to make reservations at Rakuten Travel’s eligible accommodation facilities, and can also be applied to reservations that have already been made prior to the donation (with additional conditions).
In 2023, about 90 municipalities will be added, including Fukuoka City, Fukuoka Prefecture; Atami City, Shizuoka Prefecture; Hakone Town/Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture; and Kusatsu Town, Gunma Prefecture, bringing the total number of eligible municipalities to over 500 and accommodation facilities to over 25,000 as of December. Experience-type tax returns that can be used for travel are becoming increasingly popular among Rakuten Furusato Tax.
