The Kyushu Round Trip Tourism Revitalization Consortium opened RV Park smart at “Takanabe Onsen Meirin no Yu” (6900 Kamie, Takanabe-cho, Koyu-gun, Miyazaki Prefecture) and started reservations for overnight stays.
RV Park smart is a wide-area overnight stay spot designed to promote tourism in areas such as transit areas. Takanabe Town is the third municipality in Miyazaki Prefecture, following Nishimera Village and Gokase Town, and the first in Miyazaki Prefecture to open an RV park along the coast.
Takanabe Town, the smallest town in Miyazaki Prefecture, has Takanabe IC in the northwest and Takanabe Station on the Nippo Main Line on the sea side in the east, making it a suitable area for a touring base as it is about an hour away from Miyazaki City by car.
In December 2014, Miyazaki Prefecture’s first “RV Park” as a public facility was opened at Takanabe Onsen Meirin no Yu. This time, two “RV Park smart” rooms, which are unmanned, cashless, and contactless, were introduced, eliminating the need for manpower to accept reservations by phone and receive fees, and also serving as a pandemic preparedness measure. The RV parks are less expensive than overnight accommodations, allowing visitors to spend more money on food and experiences.
Hours of use are from 1:00 p.m. to 12:00 a.m. the following day (reservations can be made online until 11:00 p.m. on the same day), and the fee is 2,040 yen per car room for the entire day. The parking lot is equipped with a 100V power supply, Western-style toilets and running water, and visitors can enjoy a large bath and open-air bath at the adjacent Takanabe Onsen Meirin-no-Yu (600 yen for adults).
The “RV Park smart Takanabe Onsen Meirin no Yu” reservation page also introduces nearby spots such as the popular shochu distillery “Kuroki Honten” and “Gyoza no Mawatari.
