On December 20, ANA released “ In-flight Lunch Box Set Commemorating 2 Million Economy Class In-flight Meals on International Flights.
The company began mail-order sales of in-flight meals in December 2020 for the Corona disaster, and by September 2023 the cumulative number of meals sold will exceed 2 million. To commemorate this milestone, the company will sell a set of eight international economy class in-flight meal main dishes and two lunchboxes for everyday use. The price is 9,600 yen, and the product will be available at ANA Shopping A-style and other stores.
The in-flight main dish lineup consists of eight main dishes: beef hamburger steak with tandoori chicken style saffron rice, braised beef and eggplant with cream penne, paella, hamburger steak doria with demi-glace sauce, chicken thigh with herbs in red wine sauce, beef hamburger steak Italian Tomato Sauce, Fried Chicken Thigh with Oil and Ginger Sauce.
The lunch box included in the set is shaped to reproduce the container used for in-flight service, and can be refilled with the menu as is. It measures 107 x 155 x 42 mm, has a capacity of approximately 330 mL, is cold-resistant (can be frozen), microwave-safe, and dishwasher-safe.
To commemorate the 2 millionth meal sold, the first capsule toy of the international economy class in-flight meal was released on December 20.
