Posted on 2023-12-212023-12-28 by Editor in Chief

NEXCO East Japan, NEXCO Central Japan, NEXCO West Japan, Metropolitan Expressway, Hanshin Expressway, and JB Honsha Expressway have announced traffic congestion forecasts for the year-end and New Year holidays (December 28, 2023 – January 4, 2024).

Traffic congestion is expected to be heaviest on January 2 on all sections, with congestion of 30 km or more on the Tohoku Expressway and the Tomei Expressway during peak hours. In addition, the holiday discount will not apply from December 30 to January 3, and drivers are encouraged to avoid peak hours and spread out their travel.

Before departure or when using the vehicle, please check the latest road traffic information, pay attention to speed and distance between vehicles when driving, and try to limit lane changes.
