Posted on 2023-12-212023-12-28 by Editor in Chief

The Japan Football Association (JFA) will open “blue-ing!

It is located in Crystal Avenue in Tokyo Dome City (1-3-17 Koraku, Bunkyo-ku, Tokyo). Various next-generation digital contents will be gathered in an indoor facility where visitors can play regardless of weather conditions, including “VIRTUAL FIELD,” where visitors can experience the real-scale movements of Japan’s national soccer team players from various perspectives, and “DREAM THEATER,” where they can enjoy the immersive experience of a soccer match with AI generated images and music utilizing ChatGPT. A variety of next-generation digital content will gather at the indoor facility, which can be played regardless of weather conditions.

It also has a variety of areas for both adults and children to enjoy, including an exhibit of items actually worn by the players in the World Cup and memorabilia from the history of the Japanese national team, a store selling original goods, and a café and bar where you can taste our special hamburgers.

Ahead of the grand opening this weekend, a press conference and preview were held, and JFA Senior Managing Director Tsuneyasu Miyamoto gave an introduction of the facility on behalf of the organizers. The concept is “a place of communication and creativity that connects us to the future.

blue-ing!” is named after “blue,” which stands for JFA and FA and is also the symbolic color of the national team uniforms. Mr. Miyamoto explained that the key to the future development of soccer culture in Japan is to create points of contact with not only the core but also the lightweight segment of the population, and he expressed his hope that people will be dyed in BLUE by experiencing the excitement and experience of soccer at this facility.

The “undulations” in the logo design throughout the facility are said to represent the whirlpool of enthusiasm brought about by the fans and supporters and the free movement of a soccer ball.

Then, Yoichi Ochiai, Director of the Digital Nature Development and Research Center at the University of Tsukuba, who supervised the overall facility space and created some of the exhibits and experiences, explained the technology-based content.

One of the main features of the facility is a mechanism that allows students to enjoy leveling up, booking experiences, and AI chatting while linked to a dedicated app. Mr. Ochiai said, “In the past, people learned about soccer through TV and soccer cartoons, and today’s middle and high school students learn about soccer through YouTube and videos. The next generation of children will learn about and enjoy soccer by interacting with AI,” he said, “We want to provide a lifestyle where soccer is intermingled with digital technology and is part of everyday life.

The presentation also featured a talk session on the theme of “blue-ing!’s potential as a center for soccer culture creation,” featuring Kazu Moriyasu, coach of the Japanese national soccer team (SAMURAI BLUE), and Futoshi Ikeda, coach of the Japanese women’s national soccer team (Nadeshiko Japan).

Moriyasu commented on Ochiai’s commitment to creating a space that can be enjoyed even by people who do not know anything about soccer. “AI is constantly advancing, so this facility will be updated on a daily basis,” said Moriyasu. “His creativity is amazing. Moriyasu commented, “The creativity is amazing. It’s like an interesting fusion of sports and digital attractions.

Former Japan players Tomoaki Makino, Junichi Inamoto, Takayuki Suzuki, Honoki Sawa, Mana Iwabuchi, and current player Fuka Nagano also made appearances, introducing nostalgic exhibits looking back on their World Cup careers and the highlights of blue-ing! I hope you will visit with your family and friends and enjoy the soccer experience.
