Posted on 2023-12-282024-01-07 by Editor in Chief

Hikawa Shrine (1-407 Takahana-cho, Omiya-ku, Saitama City, Saitama Prefecture) provides information on its official Web site about the first visit to the shrine in 2024.

Prayer halls and the Shofuda (talismans, amulets, red seals, etc.) will open at midnight on January 1, and will be open from January 2 onward, depending on the day. Red seals are available at the second Shofuda conferment office.

No visitors will be allowed to keep their own ledgers, and a special New Year’s paper red seal or one new ledger per person will be awarded (from January 9 to February 3, entries in the ledger will be resumed and a gold seal “New Year’s Offering” will be affixed).

Traffic regulations will be enforced around the shrine from New Year’s Eve to Sangatsu, when crowds are expected to be high. Visitors are encouraged to use buses and trains. For details, please refer to the Traffic Regulations Guide Map (PDF).
