Studio B, which operates the rental kart course “Quick Hanyu” (Hanyu City, Saitama Prefecture), will open the racing kart course “Quick Ushioi” (804-352, Oo, Ushioi, Ibaraki Prefecture) on January 15.

The circuit was originally operated as JAF-approved racing kart course “Itako Motor Sports Park,” but Studio B will take over the facility and reopen it after relocating the rental kart course “Quick Mito” that was operating inside AEON TOWN Mito Minami.

At Itakomo Motorsports Park, the business is mainly for driving racing karts brought in for competition, and driving with rental karts was limited to lunch break and evening hours, but at Quick Ushioi, by sequentially dividing the running time slots for racing karts and rental karts, rental This will allow for rental karts to be used at all times.

The course layout was changed in two places from Itakomo Motorsports Park. The conventional layout of the second corner has been shortcut to the inside and integrated with the first corner. A chicane is located on the back straight ahead of the first corner. The total length of the track is 700 m with 11 corners.

The rental fleet includes 12 Sodi adult carts with 270 cc engines, 4 junior carts with 160 cc engines, and 1 two-seater cart. The electric carts for toddlers, which were offered at Quick Mito, are under consideration as the facility will need to be renovated.

According to Kohei Morita, manager of Quick Ushioi, the time per lap is about 55 seconds to 1 minute for beginners, 50 seconds flat for intermediate, and 46 seconds for advanced.

Mr. Morita said, “It will be a very rare course in Japan where rental karts can be mixed with racing karts on a circuit where competition racing karts run, and where people can come at any time and ride both. This will be a great opportunity for children who have never seen kart racing live to become aspiring racers and join a racing team to advance their careers,” he said.

The fee structure is currently being finalized for the opening on the 15th, and will be announced on the website as soon as it is decided.
