New Year’s Greetings: Koji Shibata, President, ANA Holdings, Inc.

Posted on 2024-01-092024-01-09 by Editor in Chief

2024 will be a dynamic year

ANA Holdings, Inc.

President and Representative Director

Koji Shibata

On the occasion of the ANA Group’s New Year’s Eve ceremony for the year 2024, I would like to offer my greetings.

As is well known, on New Year’s Day, a major earthquake hit Ishikawa Prefecture, and on the 2nd, an airplane collision occurred at Haneda Airport.

We pray for the souls of those who lost their lives in the earthquake and accident, and extend our heartfelt sympathy to those who were injured or affected by the disaster.

Last year, with the normalization of social and economic activities triggered by the end of the Corona pandemic, the global airline industry regained its vitality as a social infrastructure that supports human connections and the flow of goods through transportation, and the ANA Group’s performance remained strong.

I am reminded of the important role of the aviation business in creating diverse connections among people, goods, and things that begin in the sky and contributing to a future full of dreams, and how grateful I am to be involved in this business.

Last year, we set forth our new ANA Group Management Vision.

In order to realize our vision, we must first create a virtuous cycle in which each and every one of you works with vigor and enthusiasm, with joy and satisfaction, and this excitement leads to the joy of our customers.

Creating a rewarding and attractive workplace starts with the desire of each and every one of you to make it better. Let us voice our thoughts, think together with our colleagues, and take action together.

Although there are various variable factors such as the unstable international situation, engine inspections of the A320/321neo aircraft, and a shortage of human resources, we will respond appropriately to each of these issues one by one and take control of our management.

This year, we will begin new challenges for growth, including the launch of international flights under the AirJapan brand and the addition of NCA to the ANA Group, and the entire ANA Group will work to speed up our return to a growth trajectory.

As I mentioned in my message last year, we were able to “bounce” thanks to the support of you and our many stakeholders.

This year, I would like to use this “bounce” as a springboard to make it a “dynamic year” in which we will maintain safe operations, stick to basic quality, strengthen our footing, and take on the challenge of further growth in 2025 and beyond.

Let’s work together with all the employees of the ANA Group around the world toward the future of the ANA Group, which is full of dreams.
