On January 14, JAL unveiled its first aircraft (registration symbol: JA01WJ) with a red logo mark at Haneda Airport in conjunction with the arrival of the second A350-1000, a new international aircraft.
The first plane was received in Toulouse, France, where Airbus is headquartered, on December 14, 2023; it arrived in Japan on December 15, and the logo was worked on at Haneda at the end of the month.
The first A350-900, which is already in operation on domestic routes, also has a large red logo painted on the side of the fuselage in the same manner, and will be clad in a similar design. It has not yet been decided whether the second A350-1000 will be like the second A350-900 (silver logo).
The A350-1000 is a new aircraft to be introduced on the Haneda-New York route (JL006/JL005), and will enter service on January 24, 2024.
The interior of the aircraft will be designed with traditional Japanese beauty in mind, in keeping with the interior of the A350-900 aircraft already in service on domestic routes and the domestic-spec Boeing 787-8 aircraft. All classes of seats have been redesigned, with a total of 239 seats, including 6 first class seats, 54 business class seats, 24 premium economy seats, and 155 economy seats.
