The Toyama Prefecture Regional Development Bureau announced that it will postpone the launch of the “Kurobe-Unazuki Canyon Route” travel product, which was scheduled for January 29.
The company claims that the reason for this is that the Kurobe Gorge Railway’s Kanezuri Bridge was damaged by falling rocks, probably as a result of the Noto Peninsula earthquake, and the full opening date of the Kurobe Gorge Railway line is uncertain.
The opening to the public and the start of travel merchandising is currently scheduled for June 30, as planned. The decision on whether or not to postpone the start date will depend on when the Kurobe Gorge Railway fully opens to the public.
