On January 19, Tokyu Corporation started a verification experiment on the Kodomo no Kuni Line regarding a boarding service using the credit card touch function and QR codes.
Starting in 2023, the system will be implemented on the Denentoshi, Toyoko, Meguro, Oimachi, Ikegami, and Tokyu Tamagawa lines, as well as at Shin-Tsunashima Station on the Tokyu Shin-Yokohama line. In the first half of FY2024, compatible equipment will be installed in Setagaya Line trains or at ticket gate windows.
In addition, Shin-Yokohama Station on the Tokyu Shin-Yokohama Line is also scheduled to be compatible by the end of FY2024, which will make it possible to use the credit card touch function and QR codes at all stations on the Tokyu Line.
Tickets must be purchased in advance at the Q SKIP digital ticket service sales site. The company is also considering a post-paid boarding service to be implemented in the spring of 2024 or later.
At “Q SKIP,” eligible one-day passes can be purchased at a discount from the station, and the Ikegami Line and Tokyu Tamagawa Line One-Day Pass is available as a limited edition product.
In addition, “Kawazu Cherry Blossom Park & Train Free Ticket” for the Izu Kyuko Line and digital tickets that include a ticket to use facilities along the line and a train ticket will be available from January 30.
