JR East renews some of its special tickets. Renaming and price revision of Ekinet Limited products.

Posted on 2024-01-232024-02-04 by Editor in Chief

JR East will change the name, price and validity of some special tickets from March 16.

The name system of the discount products available only through Eki-net has been reorganized. The name of “Tokudan Value” for Shinkansen e-tickets will be changed to “Tokudan Value 1” for “Ekinet Tokudan Value”, “Tokudan Value 14” for “Okitate Tokudan Value”, and “Tokudan Value Special 21” for “Okitate Tokudan Value Special”.

For conventional lines, the service names of ticketless express tickets and paper tickets will be differentiated. The “Ekinet Ticketless Service” will be changed to “Conventional Line Ticketless Express Ticket” and the ticketless “Tokudayori” will be renamed to “Tokuwari”. On the other hand, the paper ticket “Tokudare” will be renamed “Toku-tokudare” and the product name will be “Toku-tokudare 14” based on the application deadline as in the case of Shinkansen.

In addition, the Shinkansen e-Ticket service will be expanded with the extension of the Hokuriku Shinkansen line. The aforementioned “Tokuda Value 14” will be available between Tokyo and Tsuruga stations, and the price between Tokyo and Tsuruga will be 11,310 yen. The Tohoku Shinkansen will also increase the number of “Tokuda Value” sections, while reviewing the discount rates for some sections.

In addition, the scope of use and sales price of the “Adult’s Holiday Club Members Only Hokuriku Free Ticket” and “Hokuriku Arch Pass,” which are special tickets that include the Hokuriku area, will be revised. The former ticket can be used on the Shinkansen between Kanazawa and Tsuruga and Happiline Fukui from March 16, but the price will be raised from 22,410 yen to 24,000 yen for tickets departing from within Tokyo.
