Seishun 18 Ticket, spring season sales will start on February 20. Rules will be changed with the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen Line.

With the opening of the Hokuriku Shinkansen line (Kanazawa to Tsuruga) on March 16, the handling of special tickets sold by the JR Group, such as “Seishun 18 Ticket” and “Japan Rail Pass” will be partially changed.

JR Group will start selling “Seishun 18 Ticket” and “Seishun 18 Ticket Hokkaido Shinkansen Option Ticket” on February 20.

Seishun 18 Ticket” Spring Sales

Price: 12,050 yen (same price for adults/children)

Launch period: February 20, 2024 – March 31, 2024

Period of use: March 1 – April 10, 2024

Sales locations: Major JR stations nationwide, JR travel centers, major travel agencies

The “Seishun 18 Ticket” allows passengers to freely ride on and off unreserved ordinary ordinary and rapid trains, BRT (Bus Rapid Transit), and the JR West Miyajima Ferry on all JR lines in Japan.

Each ticket is valid only for the day of boarding, and can be used by anyone regardless of age, such as for a 5-day trip where one person uses one ticket five times, or for a one-day trip where a group of five people use one ticket each.

In the following sections, nonreserved seats in ordinary cars of limited express and express trains may be used as a special exception (limited to inter-section arrivals and departures).

Ou Main Line: Aomori to Shin-Aomori

Ishikatsu Line: Between Shintoku and Shin-Yubari

Muroran Line: Higashi-Muroran – Muroran

Sasebo Line: between Hayaki and Sasebo

Miyazaki Airport Line: Miyazaki Airport – Miyazaki

As a special exception, the following railroad company line sections can be used only when passing through to the JR line.

Aomori Railway Line: Aomori to Hachinohe

Ainokaze Toyama Railway Line: Takaoka to Toyama

IR Ishikawa Railway Line: Kanazawa to Tsubata

On the days when the “Seishun 18 Ticket” is used, you will also be entitled to a discount on the room rates at the member hotels of the JR Hotel Group.
