Shimada House will open a hotel, SAKE Kura Hotel Kawasaki Yado (2-8-2 Honmachi, Kawasaki-ku, Kawasaki-shi, Kanagawa Prefecture) and a bar, Sake Kura Bar, on February 9.
Located a 7-minute walk from Keikyu Kawasaki Station, the hotel opened as a “hotel to enjoy a bar” in a place that once prospered as an inn town. Check-in takes place at the “Sake Brewery Bar” directly operated by Yoshikawa Brewery, which offers a free-flow of four to five types of sake recommended for the day, in addition to seasonal sake. All snacks, including oden and other dry foods, are included in the room rate, and guests can enjoy sake and meals surrounded by historical artwork and furnishings.
The exterior of the building is modeled after a warehouse, with a large noren curtain at the entrance. The front lounge, past the approach, will feature furniture in Hiroshige blue and display artwork associated with the Kawasaki Inn. As warehouses were once places to store treasures and other important items, the lounge and guest rooms are also scattered with rice, sake, ceramics, and kimonos. An antique atmosphere is created by old Imari, kimono, and indigo-dyed art.
On the morning following the day of your stay when you have enjoyed sake, we will prepare omusubi (rice balls), which also feature rice as the main ingredient. These are offered in a form that is easy to take out.
It is also possible to enjoy only the bar without staying overnight.
