Shin Nihonkai Ferry and Tokyo Kyushu Ferry, both of the SHK Line Group, began offering With Pet Rooms and pet cages for Internet reservations on January 22.
With Pet Rooms are private (twin) rooms with shower/toilet/refrigerator that can be shared with pets, and until now, reservations were accepted only by phone.
Dogs, cats, rabbits, hamsters, and small birds will be handled this time. Other small animals (indoor animals weighing 30 kg or less and large enough to fit in a designated cage) will continue to be handled by phone only.
By using the Internet reservation system, e-boarding tickets can be issued in advance on My Page, and by printing and bringing them with you, there is no need to go to the ticket counter on the day of embarkation. Reservations are accepted from 9:00 a.m. on the same day three months prior to embarkation.
